Adoption Tax Credit: In 2010 the IRS is allowing an adoption tax credit up to $13,360 of adoption related expenses per child, not per year. This credit has been continued for 2011 and is expected to have a 3% increase. Consult your tax advisor or the IRS for more info.
Family Medical Leave Act: Adoption of a child is covered under the Family Medical Leave Act which allows a qualified employee to take up to twelve weeks of unpaid, job protected leave while allowing the employee to keep health benefits. For more info visit: http://www.dol.gov/whd/fmla/
