Cradle Care Coordinator

Program Coordinator for Jeremiah’s Child

As Cradle Care Coordinator I recruit, train and license families as foster homes in order to provide temporary and short term care to babies and children who are being placed for adoption. I also handle correspondence between birth and adoptive families after the placement to make sure that both sides have an opportunity to continue their relationship after the adoption is completed.

As Program Coordinator for Jeremiah’s Child, I oversee and coordinate the program and the ministry. I handle everything from advertising and community networking, to recruiting, training and licensing shepherding homes. I facilitate each child’s case until the child returns to his/her parent. During this process, I minister to the parents and provide opportunities for the shepherding families to minister as well.

I graduated from Union University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Studies and a minor in Human Studies. After years of working in children’s ministries at churches, our Lord led me to A Chosen Child, where within months, I was promoted from Assistant Coordinator to Adoptive Parent Coordinator. After two years with the agency the Lord called me to serve as a missionary in the Dominican Republic. I was there for just under a year and half when my husband and I felt again called to return to Florida and resume working with A Chosen Child. This time I returned to work with foster parents , both with the agency and its affiliate ministry Jeremiah’s Child.

When not at work, you will find my husband and I spending time with friends, going to Bible studies at our church and serving at our church or in the community. We enjoy walking, and completed our first 1/2 marathon in April 2009. We enjoy the beach, a good yard sale, trying new restaurants, movies in the park. And, I thought I would never say this, but day trips to Disney.

What Do I Love Most About My Job?

I am blessed to be working side by side with amazing and gifted foster families and shepherding families. I love the adventures this job takes me on, such as flying last minute to North Florida to pick up a baby. I love praying for this office and the adoptive families and children that come through the door. I also love the opportunity to minister to these families either by lending a listening ear or giving a word of encouragement.
